what is the difference from a 3G phone and a normale phone?

I am thinking of getting a new mobile phone because the one I have is at least four years old and I was looking at some phone and some of them had 3G and others had just the name of the phone without 3G what is the difference from a 3G phone and a normale phone?

1. A 3G phone has 3G, a normal phone does not. And it's normal, no "e" on the end.
2. 3G is faster internet on ur phone etc.x
3. 3g is a higher powered, faster network that is only needed for certain features that certain phones offer like blackberrys for surfing the web

Basically, if you're going to use the internet or video calling on the phone then you need to be looking for a phone that is 3G, if it's pretty much for texting and voice calling then pretty much any handset will do you. 5. iPhone 3g has 3d service compared to edge service though this doesn't really matter because very few places have a 3G. iPhone 3G has a real GPS the iphone only has a triangulation to guess your location. Other then those 2 things their really isn't a difference.
6. 3G is a Wireless Frequency which makes internet so much faster and its alot nicer than waiting 5 minutes for one site when u could wait 30 seconds for it to load the page with 3G spend the extra $$$$$ to get the better expierence
7. a phone which can pick up a higher, faster frequency (or 3G). basically it is like broadband on your phone. you can video call due to the increased bandwidth, and surf faster due to the increased bandwidth. you can also surf + pick up calls at the same time which isnt possible with a 2G phone,
