Mobile Phone Operators

Is it safe to use my iphone 3g phone on a older ipod device that doesn't support the charging of the phone?

I have tried to use my 3g phone in a older wireless fm transmitter. It still works just doesn't support charging it.

1. It's completely safe. All dock connecter accessories will work to a certain degree with the iPhone. In your case, the transmitting works perfectly but the charging does not. You can use the device safely, you just can't use all of the devices features (i.e. charging).
