How do i connect wirelessly to internet. I have centrino mobile technology. Anything I need from myprovider?

Would like to be able to connect to the internet without being restricted to one area. I have centrino mobile technology. Do i need something else from my internet provider? My system states WLAN is on. When i try to connect to one of two wireless networks, it says it is requires a network key. Please help.

1. you do need a subscription from any service provider. Once you have a subscription, your ISP will provide you with a username and password, that you can use to login in to the wireless network. Without authorization, the wireless network's server will not allow your computer to connect to it (like trying to establish a dial-up conn w/o a subscription or an account)- hence the error you get saying that you need a network key.
2. When it says you need a network key it means you need a password. Usually even if you are conneted to a wireless signal doesn't mean you can use the internet. For example, with Starbucks wireless you need to have an account with tmobile before you can use the internet. HOpe that helps
